Rey Mysterio was backstage at recent AAA Lucha Underground tapings in Los Angeles. WWE officials were not happy when photos of Rey backstage and then later at a dinner with some people from the promotion popped up on social media. Those photos were quickly deleted. No word yet if anything will come out of this latest incident but Rey is still under contract with WWE.

Rumor Mill - Backstage News on Bad Post-WrestleMania WWE PPV Bonuses, Most of the Roster Affected
It was noted earlier this year that the payoffs for WrestleMania XXX ended up being way better than what was expected by the talents. Many believed that the WWE Network launch would hurt WrestleMania bonuses but that apparently was not the case.
Payoffs are now in for the first pay-per-view events after WrestleMania with the new formula and they were described as "really bad." This could be a sign that talents are being paid based on pay-per-view revenue and that they're not receiving anything extra from the pay-per-view revenue that's been eliminated due to the Network.
There are reportedly some talents who are being taken care of and some who have deals in place that prevent something like this from happening to them. That is not the case with the majority of talents on the roster.

Details On Another Developmental Release
PWInsider has confirmed the release of Matt Martlaro, who worked behind the scenes at NXT and as the liaison from developmental to the WWE offices. He also worked as an on-air personality back when developmental was Florida Championship Wrestling.
Martlaro's release came as a surprise because he was considered a hard worker and was seen as a "Triple H Guy" among some of the wrestlers. There's not a lot of sympathy for Martlaro as he was considered "abrasive" and was not liked for the way he treated talents. At the same time, Martlaro was said to be a good employee.
WWE Announces Guest Stars For Monday's RAW In Brooklyn, Stephanie McMahon Comments
WWE has announced Hoda Kotb and Kathee Lee Gifford, co-stars of "Today's" fourth hour on NBC, will be guest stars on Monday's RAW from Brooklyn. Also, journalist Joan Lunden, who was recently diagnosed with breast cancer, will sit ringside as a special guest along with other breast cancer survivors.
The appearance ties in with WWE's campaign with Susan G. Komen. Kotb is a seven-year breast cancer survivor.
John Cena will make a guest appearance on the "Today" show in the fourth-hour segment on Monday to give Gifford and Kotb a pep talk.
Stephanie McMahon said in an announcement:
"WWE is thrilled to have Kathie Lee Gifford, Hoda Kotb and Joan Lunden join Monday Night Raw to help shine a light on the battle against breast cancer. These women continue to be a voice for the millions that are affected by this devastating disease. We are honored to have their support in raising awareness and funds to continue the fight."

Stephanie McMahon Talks Taking Over Vince’s “Character”, Dealing with Injuries in WWE, WMania Returning to Chicago, NXT & More
Stephanie McMahon recently did an interview with Chicago Now, and below are some interview highlights:
For many years your father (Vince McMahon) was the main heel of the WWE. With “The Authority” now in the picture it seems that you have slowly transitioned into that role. What is it like for you to become that character?
I wouldn’t say I am taking over for my Dad. My husband and I are involved in a fun storyline where we represent the “evil owners”. Playing the bad guy is so much fun for me and I’m not sure why. But it’s very impactful when I do the community service such as the anti-bully campaign. I have the opportunity to tell these kids about entertainment versus reality. Are whole goal is to give these kids tools to stand up to bullying.
It’s funny when I get to show footage during a speaking engagement such as Hijack Raw that happened in Chicago. I will often to show footage that features my character in villainous light and people laugh. The speech I’m giving is in my executive voice and me as a person. Seeing me in character is a complete opposite take of who I am outside of the ring. It’s fun and enjoyable and at the end of the day that’s what it’s all about.
With the NXT you have a great development system to help combat main roster injuries when they happen. How have you seen the roster been able to adjust quickly to somebody who is expected to miss an extended period of time?
In terms of the creative writing process, injuries will happen. We just have to prepare for those types of unforeseen incidents. NXT is absolutely one level of our developmental systems. That is really our foundation. The NXT slogan is “The Future Is Now” and we have to prepare the next superstars and divas for that call they could get at any time. The plan also is to have several talent at many levels ready to move up when an injury occurs.
Chicago has been a host to WrestleMania multiple times. Could another WrestleMania be in the future for either the Allstate Arena or down the street inside Soldier Field?
I would say we would love to have that happen again. Like I said before these fans are the most energetic, engaged and passionate fans and Chicago is a huge part of the WWE history.
Nothing can be announced officially, but we would love to come back for another WrestleMania.

Rumor Mill - Triple H Reportedly Big on Soliciting Internet Feedback, Working on “Ask Me Anything” Project, Was Damien Mizdow an IWC Idea?
According to a source within WWE, Triple H, as he comes more into power, is a big fan of soliciting feedback from the internet and online communities, and is reportedly having WWE’s social media workers keep an eye on various online communities.
The site HHH is most intrigued by is Reddit, and its “r/squaredcircle” community. Apparently that’s where the “Dolphins1925″ user originated, and it looks like the site has a new insider on there – a former employee of the WWE who has been telling loads of stories about Vince, Kevin Dunn, and other backstage on-goings and entities. It’s been seen as kind of a hot spot for the wrestling community, and there are rumors that booking has taken inspiration from fantasy booking found on that site.
Triple H is also said to be working on an “Ask me Anything” (AMA) with the site – not on the Squared Circle community but on the main AMA page for maximum visibility. He wants to get in on it and let them know he’s aware.
There are a few other communities being tossed around, including the GameFAQs message board as well as our own message board, as places to look for feedback and further ways to influence the product. It’s being said that Sandow’s role as the Miz’s bodyguard was taken in part by discussions seen about Sandow on these sites.

WWE Goes Pink With Susan G. Komen for Third Consecutive Year
Kurt Angle Reveals When He’ll Retire, Talks Recent Vince McMahon Negotiations, Triple H’s WWE Role, More
AlternativeNation.net‘s Wrestling section published an exclusive in-depth interview with Kurt Angle today.
During the interview, Angle reveals when he will retire, hints at where his next contract might be, talks recently reconnecting with Vince McMahon, reveals Triple H’s real current WWE role, gives his thoughts on Jeff Jarrett’s Global Force Wrestling, describes a recent discussion he had with Dixie Carter about TNA’s future, remembers working with Chris Benoit, and gives his candid thoughts on Eric Bischoff and Vince Russo.
Below are some interview highlights:
On when he will retire:
“I can’t really say who I’m going with yet or what company I’m going to sign with. I am going to sign, but I’m going to just sign for 1 year, and that’s that. I think I’m pretty much done, I’m just going to have the best year I can have. Hopefully it’ll be my best year, then I’m going to retire.”
On TNA’s TV future:
“Well at the TV’s we just did, Dixie Carter and ‘Big’ John Gaburick sat the talent down and eased their minds a little bit, because I think a lot of the talent were a little bit confused and nervous regarding what was going on. I had a private sit down with Dixie, she reassured me of what was going on, and what her plans were. It was a good meeting, it was a very positive meeting. She just knows that the next deal that they sign really has to help benefit TNA, in every regard.”
On his recent talks with Vince McMahon:
“The only person that I really spoke my piece with, that I had a lot to do with in the past, and the problems I had and the way I left the company, I was able to speak my piece with Vince, and I’m happy with that. As long as Vince and I don’t have any issues, I’m okay with that. What I found out is that Triple H is pretty much running the show now. I didn’t know that, I really believed that Vince would always run the show until the day he died, but now they’re in a position as a publicly traded company where you’re not only answering to Vince and Triple H, you’re also answering to the shareholders.”
On the WWE Hall of Fame:
“Yeah, like I said, I’m not going to say where I’m heading next, but the Hall of Fame would definitely be an option; I’m not going to count that out. It’s a big honor, it would be important to me. Is it the most important thing? No. Obviously being inducted into the National Wrestling Hall of Fame and International Wrestling Hall of Fame for Olympic style wrestling is the most important thing to me. But it is still important to me, because I’ve definitely made a legacy for myself in pro wrestling, and I take a lot of pride in it, I love the business. The Hall of Fame would be nice. Would it be the end of the world if I wasn’t inducted? No, but it would be an honor.”

Roman Reigns undergoes emergency surgery
WWE.com has learned that Roman Reigns has undergone emergency surgery for an incarcerated hernia. Reigns had been in Nashville to promote tomorrow's Night of Champions pay-per-view, and will now be unable to compete against Seth Rollins at the event.
WWE.com has spoken with WWE physican Dr. Chris Amann to get the latest.
"I was in contact with both Roman and the surgeon who performed the operation in Nashville today. Roman had developed acute abdominal pain in his hotel room last night after his match," Dr. Amann told WWE.com. "This wasn't related to a specific injury that occurred in the ring. Roman has had a pre-existing hernia for some time, which unfortunately had become acutely painful, which led to him going to the emergency room in Nashville. He was found to have a large hernia that was unable to be reduced, which means pushed back into the abdominal cavity. As a result, it was necessary to perform an emergent operation to open up the hernia sac and try and push it back into the abdominal cavity."
"At the time of the surgery, surgeons found a loop of small intestine was caught in the hernia sac, which would account for the pain and discomfort that Roman was having earlier in the evening," Dr. Amann explained. "The surgeons released the hernia sac so the intestine could be pushed back into the abdominal cavity. Once they were satisfied blood supply had returned to the intestine after releasing the hernia, they went ahead and completed the procedure. A mesh was placed over where the hernia had occurred to prevent future occurrences."
Now that the surgery has gone well, the clear next thought was when will the WWE Universe be able to see the powerhouse back in action.
"Roman has been transferred to the recovery room and is doing quite well. The plan is to keep him overnight, give him IV antibiotics to prevent infection and make sure the intestinal function returns to normal before discharging him from the hospital. If everything goes well, that should be tomorrow," Dr. Amann said. "Most of the time, the recovery time for something like this in terms of returning to physical activity is between four and six weeks. This was a pretty significant hernia, so it will probably be closer to six weeks."
WWE.com also asked Dr. Amann to elaborate on how this hernia differs from sports hernias, which sports fans know often lands top athletes on the injured list.
"This is a completely different type of hernia than sports hernia," Dr. Amann said. "A sports hernia usually refers to a tear in the lower abdominal wall that attaches to the ligaments. That type of tear is typically occurs from repeated activity or sports. Roman had what’s called an inguinal hernia. It can sometimes come from sports, but sometimes people are born with these. It is treated differently than a sports hernia."
