The report noted that McMahon and Prichard will be behind the big decisions for the NXT brand, but not the smaller ones. They will also be responsible for marketing, promotion and direction of the NXT brand. It was also said that NXT will be like “the old NXT” moving forward, which appears to be a reference to how the brand was at its peak, around 2015-2018 or so.</p><p>In an update, the Wrestling Observer Newsletter reports that WWE held a meeting with talent and staff where they were told the story of McMahon and Prichard directly producing the weekly NXT TV show is incorrect. Word is that McMahon and Prichard simply do not have the time to produce another weekly TV show.</p><p>While McMahon and Prichard won’t be directly producing the weekly NXT TV show, Vince remains in charge of everything in WWE, and there have been, and will continue to be more big-picture decisions on the NXT brand that are made my higher-ups in the company, those outside of the NXT circle, including decisions related to creative, branding and marketing. </p><p>The people making these decisions, on their own, will be a group made up of McMahon, Prichard, President & CEO Nick Khan, Talent Relations head John Laurinaitis, and Executive Producer & Chief of Global Television Distribution Kevin Dunn. This group will have more influence on whoever they want pushed or protected in NXT, but it was noted that they likely will not be involved in weekly booking since they already have so much going on.</p><p>Regarding the changes in NXT, <b>Fightful Select adds that numerous WWE sources have effectively denied the original story on McMahon and Prichard directly producing NXT</b></p><p>It was also noted that McMahon and Prichard were not at the recent set of NXT TV tapings. However, influential WWE Producer Jamie Noble has been seen at the WWE Performance Center more often than usual as of late. Furthermore, Prichard is scheduled to be at the Performance Center this weekend. There’s no word on what Prichard’s Saturday visit is for, but talent is not mandated to be there.</p><p>It remains to be seen exactly what this NXT revamp will mean for WWE’s Executive Vice President of Global Talent Strategy & Development Triple H and his crew. We noted earlier this week that the NXT brand will still be “very much in the hands” of Triple H and his team, which includes Trainer & Assistant Coach Shawn Michaels, Director of Talent Development & Head of Global Recruiting William Regal, Head Coach & Vice President of Talent Development Matt Bloom, and others. Word was that the day-to-day operations of NXT won’t change too much, but that the revamp will mean at least some loss of power for Triple H.</p><p>The original report on McMahon and Prichard producing NXT led to a “#RIPNXT” hashtag trending worldwide on social media.</p><div class="blogger-post-footer"><script expr:src='"http://feeds.feedburner.com/~s/Klq?i=" + data:post.url' type="text/javascript" charset="utf-8"></script></div>Kaliqo~http://www.blogger.com/profile/16883827855779815366noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7964262.post-11362353963059260702021-08-28T10:13:00.004-04:002021-08-30T03:00:17.721-04:00New WWE NXT Logo Revealed Ahead Of Major Revamp<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhm5-DHg94VdA2yc3klN_DQf8O4j3yOgQfc4CTaSfooFIafmoo64Yw9sdBOie4SGUbGr5MQtjs9lDx3BsKLvrg1f5ROnGAZppAmaSvBPqIFevrHjbZYGLOUSLw45KVWOh2mZaPurA/s748/7b98d1b5464912f492fd33f3553cf1e5_1342_779.webp" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="433" data-original-width="748" height="231" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhm5-DHg94VdA2yc3klN_DQf8O4j3yOgQfc4CTaSfooFIafmoo64Yw9sdBOie4SGUbGr5MQtjs9lDx3BsKLvrg1f5ROnGAZppAmaSvBPqIFevrHjbZYGLOUSLw45KVWOh2mZaPurA/w400-h231/7b98d1b5464912f492fd33f3553cf1e5_1342_779.webp" width="400" /></a></div><p><br /></p><p>The new logo and branding for WWE NXT has been revealed.</p><p>We reported recently that the yellow and black brand is set to undergo a major revamp, with reports of a new logo, stage, and format, it appears as if that change is almost ready to launch, with Wale revealing the updated NXT logo on his official Twitter page.</p><p>NXT is dropping the trademark yellow and black for a more bold and colorful design, with some likening it to AEW Dynamite's colorful graphics. </p><p>WWE is in the process of revamping the CWC (Performance Center) with the new look for the show expected to be revealed on September 7, 2021.</p><p>WWE is reportedly not looking to sign anymore indy talent going forward as they have done in the past for the NXT brand.</p><div class="blogger-post-footer"><script expr:src='"http://feeds.feedburner.com/~s/Klq?i=" + data:post.url' type="text/javascript" charset="utf-8"></script></div>Kaliqo~http://www.blogger.com/profile/16883827855779815366noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7964262.post-23572722786943460342021-04-05T19:23:00.002-04:002021-04-12T15:11:39.622-04:00Tito Ortiz Thanks Shane McMahon And Triple H For Opportunity At WWE PC<p>MMA legend Tito Ortiz is most known for his time inside the octagon, but the Hunting Beach Bad Boy has had a spell in the squared circle.</p><p>Aside from some brief appearances as a special guest referee in the mid-2000s, Ortiz’s professional wrestling tenure is most noteworthy for his involvement in TNA’s Aces and Eights storyline. Ortiz joined the infamous biker gang stable in late 2013, but abruptly left the group and the company when Bellator MMA pulled him off television.</p><p>While he hasn’t been involved in the pro wrestling world in nearly a decade, Ortiz might be looking to step back in. Speaking with SportsMattersTV, Ortiz discussed his time training at the WWE Performance Center last year.<span></span></p><a name='more'></a><p></p><p>“It’s kind of funny you say that because last year of February before this pandemic came about, I was actually at the WWE training facility and I was there for fourteen days,” Ortiz said. “I put in a lot of work and I learned a lot of stuff in a quick amount of time you know, I think we worked 13 days every day and I was learning stuff that guys were learning who been there eight or nine months that were just learning and coach is like you catch on really, really quick. That’s always been a commodity for me that I am able to learn quickly, I am a fast learner with everything I do.”</p><p>Ortiz mentioned how being in a wrestling ring again felt familiar to his TNA days, to which he says he looks back fondly on.</p><p>“It goes back to working hard, working for TNA was a blessing in disguise as I had an opportunity to sit down with Hulk Hogan, meet Hulk Hogan for who he truly is, a human being,” Ortiz said. “We got a lot of things in common in life, it was meant to be that we were meant to meet and a guy I look up to hugely Hogan and I got an opportunity through TNA.”</p><p>As for his future in pro wrestling, Ortiz did mention that he felt like he getting close to making WWE his new home before pandemic precautions were put in place.</p><p>“Once again, I got an opportunity to train at the WWE training facility and I loved it, I liked it I thought was great and I would fit in perfect,” Ortiz said. “The pandemic came about and everything got to a halt, a stop where there was no audience. I understand I don’t want to take someone’s job who’s trying to take care of their family. I dunno, we will see what happens in the future. Shane McMahon gave me the opportunity and I am very thankful of it and Triple H gave me the opportunity and I am very thankful of it. It was a great experience.</p><p>“It was something that the kid growing up was all I watched was WWF, which is WWE now, but as a kid that’s all I ever watched. I got an opportunity to do it and I was an MMA fighter because of professional wrestling, I was an amateur fighter because of professional wrestling and that was something I just made the best since to transition to something like that you know this pandemic came about just didn’t work well for me. It didn’t work well for them and it didn’t come into fruition, too bad we will see what happens in the future.”</p><div class="blogger-post-footer"><script expr:src='"http://feeds.feedburner.com/~s/Klq?i=" + data:post.url' type="text/javascript" charset="utf-8"></script></div>Kaliqo~http://www.blogger.com/profile/16883827855779815366noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7964262.post-74955931253065187112020-11-27T07:59:00.006-05:002020-11-27T07:59:31.123-05:00Stephanie McMahon On ThunderDome Boosting TV Ratings, Challenges Faced By WWE Due To COVID-19At the start of the COVID-19 outbreak in March, three of the four major sporting leagues in the U.S. were temporarily shut down, The Masters was postponed, and nearly every sporting event across the world was put on hold. Even Hollywood production houses hit the pause button on all their projects.
However, WWE didn't miss a beat and continued producing shows at its Performance Center [Capitol Wrestling Center] in Orlando, FL, where it hosted all three of its weekly TV shows [Raw, SmackDown, and NXT] before introducing ThunderDome at the Amway Center.
Stephanie McMahon, the Chief Brand Officer of WWE, recently appeared on the 2020 Forbes CMO Summit Virtual Series and spoke of the challenges faced by WWE at the start of the pandemic.
"For WWE, we never stopped producing our content, and that was a very difficult decision in and of itself," said Stephanie. "First and foremost, we had to ensure the health and safety of our talents, crew, and employees."
She went onto talk about how WWE had no choice but to adapt to the new normal.
"WrestleMania, for example, was supposed to be an event attended by 80,000 fans [at Raymond James Stadium] and instead became a two-day event at our Performance Center, which is essentially a warehouse where we develop and train our future stars.
"It was a stark contrast to what WrestleMania normally is," she added.
Stephanie emphasized that the pandemic era has made WWE realize just how crucial the fans are to its programming.
"We continue to produce 7 hours of live programming every week, and produce content for a myriad of channels and platforms. And we never stopped. What we found [through this experience]] is that our fans mean everything. They bring the energy, the excitement, and the spectacle, and without them, the shows are just not the same."
While touching upon WWE's ratings decline at the start of the empty arena era, Stephanie said WWE tried to bring in developmental talent to be a part of the audience but "that wasn't enough" to bring back the excitement to the live programming.
"We had hoped to be back in the arenas during the fall but that wasn't to be," she revealed. "So, we decided to double down and invest in the ThunderDome. Today, we have 1,000 virtual fans every show and nearly 100,000 fans who have signed up for this experience."
She continued, "These fans are live, they give us real-time reactions, and we see their faces. We also mix in additional audio, which we found very helpful. We bring that audio into the arena [besides piping in the noise for TV] because the performers need to hear the audience too, and feed off that crowd."
Stephanie said ThunderDome has also enabled its production crew to explore technologies such as AR, Drones, Pyros, and Lasers in ways that "we had never been able to do before."
She added, "Through ThunderDome, we have brought the spectacle back to WWE and have seen our ratings increase because of that."
WWE will be moving its ThunderDome set to Tropicana Field in Tampa Bay, FL, starting with the episode of SmackDown on Friday, December 11.<div class="blogger-post-footer"><script expr:src='"http://feeds.feedburner.com/~s/Klq?i=" + data:post.url' type="text/javascript" charset="utf-8"></script></div>Kaliqo~http://www.blogger.com/profile/16883827855779815366noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7964262.post-35631386866843445712020-11-24T18:51:00.005-05:002020-11-24T18:51:59.835-05:00 WWE And Omaze Are Offering Fans The Chance To Tour The WWE PC With The UndertakerThe Undertaker just had his Final Farewell at WWE Survivor Series, but WWE is offering fans the rare chance to step into the ring with “The Phenom” Through Omaze and a collaboration with the Make-A-Wish Foundation, the winner of a sweepstakes will get get to meet “The Deadman”” himself. Triple H and I have had many conversations about me working with the talent there at NXT, in Orlando at the PC. And I really enjoy that. And we’re just trying to figure out how it works because I’d have to come in and go out. I live in Texas. So I’m sure I will do more of that moving forward. I think there’s a lot of– I think I have a lot to offer. The product is changing and evolving, but I think there’s a lot of what I bring to the table that is still applicable to the product and these guys need to hear it and see it from somebody who has made it work. "You'll find out more on Sunday, but it will be very unique, and I think hopefully, at least for us, game changing."</div><div><br></div><div>It was later reported WWE was moving all NXT tapings — including tonight's TakeOver — from the NXT Arena on the campus of Full Sail University in Winter Park, Florida to the WWE Performance Center in Orlando, Florida. Since RAW and SmackDown headed to the Amway Center (WWE ThunderDome) that left the WWE PC available for NXT.</div><div><br></div><div>Sports Illustrated is reporting the Performance Center has a newly remodeled TV set, and will now be known as the Capitol Wrestling Center. This is a tribute the the Capitol Wrestling Corporation, founded by Jess McMahon in 1953 and run by Vincent J. McMahon.</div><div><br></div><div>"It's a historic callback to where this all began," Triple H said about the new name. "We gutted the Performance Center and it's now rebuilt, so it feels like we're going back to the beginning. To me, it feels like we're going back to 1953. Just like then, we're doing something different and new, taking the business to a whole new level.</div><div><br></div><div>"The Capitol Wrestling Center captures the feel and the vibe of NXT. We will have all the bells and whistles of the ThunderDome, but we'll keep that NXT feel. It's edgier, darker and raw — you're walking into the ultimate heavy metal soundstage."</div><div><br></div><div>Along with the virtual fans, there will be fans in attendance in a limited capacity of around 100 people at tonight's show.</div><div><br></div><div>"There will be a contingent of fans in attendance, some of which will be talent, others will be friends and family and some will be fans," Triple H stated. "We will take every safety precaution that there is. All of this was signed off by our medical staff. Everybody that walks in the building will be PCR tested, take a questionnaire and be medically screened. There will be plexiglass pods with fans that are in groups, and the groups will vary in size. Everyone will wear masks, and each group will never be near anyone else."</div><div><br></div><div>Triple H also noted there was talk of running NXT at the ThunderDome, but he was resistant as he wanted NXT to keep its own unique feel. The move to the Capitol Wrestling Center does not mean WWE's relationship with Full Sail has ended.</div><div><br></div><div>"We are not severing our relationship with Full Sail," Triple H confirmed. It's been reported that the outbreak may have started with a WWE Performance Center Coach, but that was not confirmed.
In an update, PWInsider now reports that there was no training in Florida on Thursday, and there's no word yet on when training will resume.<div><br></div><div>It's believed among several sources that this coronavirus outbreak started after a NXT wrestler threw a party that other trainees attended. There have been a number of positive tests this week, among trainees and staff members. It was noted that talents have been advised to sequester themselves.
WWE issued the following statement on this latest COVID-19 outbreak in NXT:
"As part of ongoing testing protocols, WWE completed its second round of weekly COVID-19 testing on Tuesday. Individuals that tested positive will quarantine for 14 days, receive medical care, and then will only be cleared when they are symptom-free and test negative. Additionally, extensive contact tracing has taken place and other individuals have been placed in 14-day quarantine, and will then only be cleared after they test negative."</div><div><br></div><div>Next week's Takeover go-home edition of NXT TV is taped on Wednesday, so the next live NXT event will be the Takeover event on Sunday, October 4. This gives the company 9 days from today to see if talents who missed this week's tapings will be free & clear to return to work.
It was reported earlier this week, via Wrestling Observer Radio, that some main roster workers had gotten sick due to this latest outbreak in NXT, and that RAW and SmackDown plans could be impacted. PWInsider reports that as a safeguard to prevent further spread of the virus, talents and staff working at the Performance Center or on NXT tapings will not be allowed to work RAW or SmackDown tapings at the Amway Center in Orlando until further notice.</div><div class="blogger-post-footer"><script expr:src='"http://feeds.feedburner.com/~s/Klq?i=" + data:post.url' type="text/javascript" charset="utf-8"></script></div>Kaliqo~http://www.blogger.com/profile/16883827855779815366noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7964262.post-58528922748560945212020-08-14T17:18:00.002-04:002020-08-14T17:18:41.665-04:00WWE Shows At The Amway Center To Have Virtual Fans Appearing Live On LED BoardsWWE is expected to announce the Amway Center in Orlando, Florida as the location for the SummerSlam pay-per-view on August 23. They're also looking at the venue for other upcoming events and TV tapings.<br />
<br />
It was reported on Thursday, via PWInsider, that WWE was considering the use of virtual fans for SummerSlam, something FOX has done for recent MLB broadcasts. Now @Wrestlevotes reports that WWE has a much bigger interactive experience planned for the Amway Center.<br />
<br />
It was noted that WWE is about to begin a "new long term residency" at the Amway Center, indicating they have signed a lease with the venue, which has been "officially" closed until 2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. This residency includes a new interactive experience that will see fans appear live on the show via LED boards. The interactive experience will be hosted by WWE Superstars and Legends.<br />
<br />
The interactive experience will be shown in the arena with more than 2,500 square foot of LED boards.<br />
<br />
WWE should be announcing details on the interactive experience soon as it was noted that applications for people to appear on screen will open next week.<div class="blogger-post-footer"><script expr:src='"http://feeds.feedburner.com/~s/Klq?i=" + data:post.url' type="text/javascript" charset="utf-8"></script></div>Kaliqo~http://www.blogger.com/profile/16883827855779815366noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7964262.post-28575403547204312892020-06-24T17:58:00.000-04:002020-06-24T17:58:10.388-04:00Multiple WWE Personnel Reportedly Test Positive For COVID-19, Including In-Ring TalentAs first reported by Pro Wrestling Sheet, we can add WWE to the shortlist of sports organizations affected by COVID-19. After last week’s first case of confirmed COVID-19 caused a delay in their taping and their first mass testing for the illness, inside sources are saying that at least three others who have been in the Performance Center during tapings have received positive test results. It’s unknown the exact number of positive results and how many of them are in-ring performers.<br />
<br />
Sources also say that WWE will now be running more tests before this week’s TV tapings in order to ensure that the disease hasn’t spread into the locker room or backstage. The Performance Center is located in Orlando, Florida, right in the middle of a state that’s seen rising infection rates every day since going through with plans to reopen businesses two weeks ago.<div class="blogger-post-footer"><script expr:src='"http://feeds.feedburner.com/~s/Klq?i=" + data:post.url' type="text/javascript" charset="utf-8"></script></div>Kaliqo~http://www.blogger.com/profile/16883827855779815366noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7964262.post-85972317983163980782020-06-15T23:48:00.000-04:002020-06-15T23:53:55.761-04:00Man Previously Shot At The WWE Performance Center ReturnsSean Ross Sapp of Fightful.com is reporting on Twitter that Armando Alejandro Montalvo the man who was shot by an Orange County sheriff's deputy outside of the WWE Performance Center in Orlando, Florida after an incident in 2015 has returned.<br />

<br />
The wrestler, who is a development talent and not a main roster star, was last at the WWE Performance Center on June 9. While no other talent have reported symptoms, the company is testing all talent, staff, and employees that were at the PC immediately.<br />
<br />
“A developmental talent, who was last on site at WWE’s training facility on Tuesday, June 9, has tested positive for COVID-19,” WWE Associate Medical Director Dr. Jeffrey Dugas explained in a statement sent to WrestleZone. “Since that time, no other individuals that attended the facility have reported symptoms. However, out of an abundance of caution and to ensure the health and safety of the company’s performers and staff, all talent, production crew and employees on site at the training and production facilities will be tested for COVID-19 immediately. Following the test results, WWE plans to proceed with its normal television production schedule.”<div class="blogger-post-footer"><script expr:src='"http://feeds.feedburner.com/~s/Klq?i=" + data:post.url' type="text/javascript" charset="utf-8"></script></div>Kaliqo~http://www.blogger.com/profile/16883827855779815366noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7964262.post-56603430335648434982020-04-24T09:49:00.001-04:002020-04-25T13:39:39.108-04:00Triple H And Vince McMahon Explain WWE’s Safety Protocol During COVID-19 Pandemic<div id="attachment_1118159" class="wp-caption alignnone">As one of the few public-facing companies in America still running full steam ahead amidst the COVID-19 Pandemic, WWE has had to keep its employees safe as they perform in a very physical manner. When asked about keeping talent safe during the recent quarterly earnings call, Vince talked about what precautions have been put in place.</div><p>As far as testing is concerned, we do everything imaginable. You can’t even step on the premises if you have a fever. We have this whole form you have to fill out, and you have to do it every week, in terms of whether you’ve been exposed. It’s a whole long form. We’re doing everything we can for safety and making sure the environment is as good as it possibly can be. Not only monitoring our talent but our employees as well. Anyone who’s been at the training facility, and we’re very careful as to how many people are in and out at one time.</p><div class="pb-in-article-content"><div id="evolve_ad_gpt_widget-43" class="widget_evolve_ad_gpt_widget"></div><div id="evolve_ad_gpt_widget-44" class="widget_evolve_ad_gpt_widget"><div id="pb_prebidjs_300x250_a" data-id="pb_prebidjs_300x250_a" data-offset="300" class="gpt-ad js-inview" data-google-query-id="CMK9wuyZgekCFcsOhgodOrEJQA"><div id="google_ads_iframe_/4403/cr/wrestlezone/news_5__container__">Vince continues by confirming some aspects we’ve heard about WWE’s safety policies. Talent is sequestered in hotels during tapings, and the ropes and turnbuckles are changed out between matches. He describes a frequent “pandemic cleaning” that goes on throughout the facility. Triple H then stepped in to expand on what exactly that means.</div></div></div></div><p>It’s a company called Applied Bioscience that we work through. They have a spray that, through a process, makes it cling to surfaces. Once it’s coated, it lasts for 90 to 120 days. How it was explained to me it, it acts like a sword that punctures the cell wall of what causes the virus and kills it on contact.</p><p>Vince finishes by saying that they’ll take advantage of any testing that comes out as time goes on. Closing fully is not an option for WWE, but Vince and the company want to be sure that everything is as safe as possible for those who choose to come in and perform in their ring.</p><div class="blogger-post-footer"><script expr:src='"http://feeds.feedburner.com/~s/Klq?i=" + data:post.url' type="text/javascript" charset="utf-8"></script></div>Kaliqo~http://www.blogger.com/profile/16883827855779815366noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7964262.post-41736378495192829692020-04-16T01:14:00.000-04:002020-04-16T01:14:34.707-04:00WWE Releases Three Performance Center CoachesAdd WWE Performance Center coaches Serena Deeb, Kendo Kashin and Chris Guy (Ace Steel) to the list of wrestlers, creative writers, producers, referees and other talent released today by WWE, according to PWInsider.<div class="blogger-post-footer"><script expr:src='"http://feeds.feedburner.com/~s/Klq?i=" + data:post.url' type="text/javascript" charset="utf-8"></script></div>Kaliqo~http://www.blogger.com/profile/16883827855779815366noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7964262.post-74839865776483150062020-04-15T20:23:00.001-04:002020-04-16T01:29:13.594-04:00WWE PC Coach And Others Released, WWE To Cut Hundreds Of Employees, More On Today's Departures<p><a href="https://www.wrestlinginc.com/news/wwe-news">WWE</a> <a href="https://www.wrestlinginc.com/shows/5/wwe-nxt/"><em>NXT</em></a> Superstar MJ Jenkins, Performance Center coach Norman Smiley, Spanish announcer Jerry Soto and on-air talent Josiah Williams to the list of wrestlers, creative writers, producers, referees and other talent released today by WWE.</p><p>Regarding the releases, <a href="https://twitter.com/WrestleVotes/status/1250507915867414529" rel="noopener" target="_blank">@Wrestlevotes</a> noted that the number of staff and talent releases will be "well into the hundreds" when everything has been finalized. <br />
Alba reports that Orange County deputies were called again on Monday regarding the live RAW that aired on the USA Network. However, the new Executive Order from DeSantis, signed on April 9, already allowed for WWE to continue operations as an essential business. There's no word on who was calling the sheriff's department or how many calls they received since March. Coueignoux said deputies told her that on Monday "someone called to say there would be taping at the location that evening" and they responded to the Performance Center again before RAW, but the April 9 order allowed WWE to continue.<br />
<a name='more'></a><br />
<br />
Governor DeSantis issued an amended Executive Order this past Thursday, April 9, that deemed WWE an essential business, allowing them to stay in business.<br />
<br />
DeSantis said he feels the people need to support events if they can be done safely like NASCAR, and Woods-Mickelson. The Governor said, "Obviously WWE, there's no crowd or anything, so it's a very small number of people. So we just look at it at a case by case basis."<br />
<br />
DeSantis was also asked specifically about essential businesses being given the OK to operate and WWE was used as the example, according to Alba. It was noted that DeSantis briefly touched the topic, then spoke at length on other sports he'd like to see back operating in the Sunshine State, emphasizing their importance. He then walked off the podium. Alba stressed that the amended order means just about any Florida sports league can resume operations now, but they're choosing not to. The NBA's Orlando Magic could hold a scrimmage game tomorrow if they wanted to.<br />
<br />
Orange County, FL Mayor Jerry Demings revealed at a press conference how WWE was originally deemed non-essential, but that was changed after "some conversation" with DeSantis' officer in regards the stay-at-home order. Demings said then WWE was allowed to remain open, but he did not mention other sports leagues being included in that amended order. As noted in a later report on Monday, spokesperson from DeSantis office told ESPN on Monday evening that such services were deemed essential "because they are critical to Florida's economy."<br />
<br />
On a related note, Alba and Coueignoux have pieced together a timeline that tries to link DeSantis deeming WWE essential to an announcement from the Super PAC to support the re-election of President Trump, which is ran by Linda McMahon. It should be noted that there is no evidence that the Super PAC ran by Linda had anything to do with WWE, and other sports leagues including AEW, being allowed to resume operations in the state of Florida. Alba and Coueignoux noted that the Super PAC ran by Linda committed $18.5 million for Trump's re-election campaign in the state of Florida on last Thursday, which was the same day Governor DeSantis named WWE and other sports leagues as essential. It was then announced on Friday, April 10 that WWE would resume live TV episodes from the Performance Center. Coueignoux noted that she reached out to DeSantis' office to ask how WWE is critical to Florida's economy. The Governor previously stated that pro sports are "critical to Florida's economy."<br />
<br />
Coueignoux said she pointed out how WWE is currently running with no audience and only essential personnel. She asked what revenue is being generated and if so, how is it benefiting the people of Florida. She was still waiting on a statement back as of this writing. Coueignoux is speculating that politics were involved with WWE being deemed essential, as Linda previously served in Trump's Cabinet as head of the Small Business Administration and now runs the "America F1rst Action" pro-Trump Super PAC, but it should be noted that she is only speculating for now.<div class="blogger-post-footer"><script expr:src='"http://feeds.feedburner.com/~s/Klq?i=" + data:post.url' type="text/javascript" charset="utf-8"></script></div>Kaliqo~http://www.blogger.com/profile/16883827855779815366noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7964262.post-20316134369498951492020-04-13T19:38:00.001-04:002020-04-13T19:47:32.117-04:00WWE Considered An Essential Business By Florida Governor's Office<div>Orange County, Florida Mayor Jerry Demings was asked about WWE being allowed to continue operations during a press conference today. WWE confirmed in a new statement to Sports Illustrated that all company talent and staff are required to participate in medical screenings before entering the WWE Performance Center in Orlando, due to the coronavirus pandemic.<br />
<br />
WWE issued the following statement in response to a question on if talent and staff are being tested for the COVID-19 virus:<br />
<br />
"In consultation with WWE Medical Director Dr. Maroon, WWE Associate Medical Director Dr. Dugas and ringside physician Dr. Westerfield, as a best practice and precautionary measure all WWE performers and staff are required to participate in medical screenings prior to entering WWE's training center, which is now operating as a closed set."<br />
<br />
Furthermore, SI reports that WWE has established a series of protocols, based on guidelines from the World Health Organization (WHO) and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), to minimize risks and to protect its performers and staff. Due to the lack of testing for those in need, WWE sources close to the situation reported to SI that WWE is not testing people that are showing no symptoms, or asymptomatic.<div class="blogger-post-footer"><script expr:src='"http://feeds.feedburner.com/~s/Klq?i=" + data:post.url' type="text/javascript" charset="utf-8"></script></div>Kaliqo~http://www.blogger.com/profile/16883827855779815366noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7964262.post-31463577739662706952020-03-16T20:58:00.000-04:002020-03-16T20:58:00.864-04:00Triple H Brings Sense of Normalcy, Fun at Time of Great UncertaintyThere was an eery sense of reality that fell over Friday night's show.<br />
<br />
The relocation of the show and absence of audience hammered home just how surreal a world we are living in right now. Just when discomfort set in, though, the WWE Universe's dad rushed to its aid and provided a night of unexpected fun and entertainment.<br />
<br />
Triple H welcomed the viewing audience to his baby, the WWE Performance Center, and proceeded to join Michael Cole on the headsets for one of the most refreshingly fun and light-hearted commentary performances in recent memory.<br />
<br />
He was hilarious, using insider references to break up the monotony that sometimes engulfs the announce position and played off Cole extremely well. He was engaging, took nothing too seriously and even jumped behind a camera while referencing the short-handed nature of the production.<br />
<br />
And best of all, he did it all without taking away any attention from the Superstars on the show.<br />
<br />
There are fans who will point to the NXT brand as proof that Triple H can run WWE and do so to great success, but there may be no greater example of that than what he was able to accomplish Friday night on short notice and with a skeleton crew to work with.<br />
<br />
Without him, the broadcast would most certainly have been an uncomfortable viewing experience for an audience already shell-shocked by what is going on in the world.<br />
